Report: Philadelphia Eagles Among Several Teams Talking with Plaxico Burress

Will Plaxico Burress wear another shade of green in 2012?

WR Plaxico Burress wants to be a Philadelphia Eagle. He can’t make that any more clear. Burress was open about that desire last offseason when he famously emerged from prison wearing a Phillies hat. And even before his one-year contract with the Jets expired, he made that interest known again.

Now, it seems that the Eagles are one of several currently “in contact” with Burress, per Jason LaCanfora of

In his return to the NFL, Plax had 45 receptions for 612 yards and eight touchdowns.

We’ll see if this year Burress finally gets his wish to fly in Eagles green with his friend Mike Vick.

  • I think the eagles should sign plaxico and we dont need a LB I think with one year under their belt that the current group we have will be just fine and I would see how far burfict fell in the draft if he falls to mid second round I would grab him and if your lucky in the first round you may get keuckly and then you are set for the future I would also look at joe adams as backup receiver/punt returner and leave D-Jax as a receiver only since you have some money tied up in him now.also benjarvus ellis wouldnt be a bad pick up

  • Burress would certainly bring a lot of firepower to this Eagles team!

    • Fo’ sho’, Jim. I don’t see a downside to it–he wants to come here, so the Eagles should have the leverage at the bargaining table…

  • Gotta get him, low risk high reward for a guy who WANTS to be here, hes got all the incentive to go out and dominate especially in the red zone.. this would be the eagles scariest recieving corps since dare i say TO was here
