Once he entered into free agency, 27-year old DT Trevor Laws was not expected to return to the Philadelphia Eagles. On Wednesday, he announced via Twitter that he was taking his talents St. Louis, signing a one-year deal with the Rams.
Laws was the 47th pick overall in the 2008 draft for the Eagles and never lived up to the expectations a 2nd-round selection implies during his four years in Philadelphia.
During his career with the Eagles, Laws started in 2 games, and played in 55. In those games he racked up five sacks, one INT, a fumble recovery and 57 career tackles.
Should the Eagles elect to draft a defensive tackle with their 1st round pick, the team needs to sign a player that can immediately produce and not be another in a long string of duds the team has drafted on defense.
Laws will rejoin 2011 teammate WR Steve Smith, who has also signed with the Rams.
