Morning Muse: Eying the enemy – Atlanta’s view of the Falcons-Eagles matchup

Let’s take a look at what Atlanta-based media are saying about this Sunday’s battle between the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles:

Ball security has been identified as a point of concern for Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who has four straight games with an interception, including three against the Raiders before their bye week- Atlanta Journal Constitution

How do Atlanta fans feel about once again coming face to face with their former quarterback? This writer contends that he’s way over Michael Vick – The Falcoholic

Mike Vick, coach-killer? D. Orlando Ledbetter contends,

Maybe the elder Jim Mora had it correct in 2006 when he concurred with the basic concept that then-Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was a “coach killer…”

Now, Andy Reid, the longest-tenured head coach in the NFL with the same team, is doing the rope-a-dope to retain his job.

Atlanta Journal Constitution

While the Falcons are unbeaten, they have barely made it out alive against some less than stellar teams in the league, including a

“too close for comfort win over the Panthers, then a lopsided effort against the Redskins, followed by a terrifying performance against the Raiders that they had no business winning.”

The particular concerns of this particular writer? Atlanta’s run game–both implementing it and stopping that of the Eagles. – Grits Blitz (love the name, btw)

I’m cheating somewhat and including an article fro a Philly blog, but there will be some great battles on the field to watch on Sunday, including the matchups of Julio Jones and Roddy White versus Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asomugha. –
