It may be the offseason, but the Eagles have pulled off a rousing victory over the Dallas Cowboys: they landed RB Demarco Murray. Whether you trust in Chip Kelly, or many of his transactions over the past week have left you scratching your head, this is one move that makes sense. In the wake of the loss of LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills, the Birds needed a star in the backfield, and that is exactly what they have gotten with Murray, who reportedly inked a 5-year deal with $21 million in guaranteed money. Morning Muse MugIt’s the last day of 2014, and the Philadelphia Eagles are already settling into the reality of the offseason. After their 34-26 win over the Giants on Sunday, all was said and done for their season. The team once again found itself with a 10-6 record, but this time with no playoff berth. So, instead of cheering on the Birds, our joy this weekend will be rooting for the Detroit Lions to crush the Cowboys.

Morning Muse: Eagles’ December meltdown complete with elimination from playoffs

Morning Muse MugThe Philadelphia Eagles will not be ending the 2014 season with a playoff run. That reality was cemented after the Dallas Cowboys’ 42-7 blowout victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The outcome is not surprising, as the Birds made their playoff odds infinitely more difficult with their loss 27-24 loss to the Redskins on Saturday. Philadelphia Eagles can’t hang on in loss to Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys got out to a quick 21-0 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles, a nightmare beginning to the rematch of the NFC East rivals. The 24 unanswered points then scored by the Birds in the second and third quarters were a rousing flash of the team we saw on Thanksgiving Day. Then came the final collapse, where Philadelphia ultimately fell 38-27 to Dallas at the Linc.
