The Philadelphia Eagles hope that veteran offensive lineman Jake Scott can add some much needed help to their offensive line, signing him to a one-year contract on Monday.
The team hopes that Scott’s experience with Howard Mudd for four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts from 2004-07 will help him adjust to the Birds’ line quickly. The 6-5, 292 lineman most recently played for the Tennessee Titans from 2008 to 2011.
There is a chance that Scott will play right guard immediately, meaning that the other remaining players to line up at tackle are Demetress Bell, Dennis Kelly, and King Dunlap, whose name should now be synonymous with a swear word after his string of bone-headed moves on Sunday. Danny Watkins may return to practice this week after missing three games due to his mysterious ankle ailment. Continue reading ‘Philadelphia Eagles sign veteran Jake Scott to bolster offensive line’
Todd Herremans is out for the season. Image via Barstool Sports.
The issues for Philadelphia Eagles offensive line got even worse on Wednesday when right guard Todd Herremans was placed on injured reserve with a broken foot, ending his season.
We knew the situation wasn’t good when Herremans was carted off the field on Monday night. He appeared in the locker room on crutches following the game. But his efforts were not enough to save his spot on the team. Continue reading ‘Just didn’t cut it: LB Brian Rolle released by Philadelphia Eagles, Adrian Moten signed’
A sea of green at Eagles Flight Night
The Philadelphia Eagles held their annual Flight Night event on Sunday, a team practice enlivened with what Andy Reid called some “razzle dazzle” for fans with proceeds benefiting Eagles Youth Partnership.
As if there wasn’t enough electricity present at the Linc with Eagles fans of all ages exactly two weeks away from Philadelphia’s regular season opener, an amazing tribute video to Brian Dawkins was played that literally gave me chills. There will never be another one like him.
The start of the evening saw skydivers parachuting into the Linc right onto the field. Offensive lineman Julian Vandervelde, an opera singer, sang the national anthem.

You can tell that the start of the season is growing ever closer due to the increase in stories about the Eagles that are out there. And it’s only going to get better. With the preseason opener just days away and the start of the regular season just a month out, Philadelphia’s players and coaches know that they no longer have the luxury of time. They must improve each and every practice and be the very best they can be now.
The intensity of this training camp has made Lehigh seem like a collection of the walking wounded, but head coach Andy Reid wants to ensure the physical and mental toughness that his guys need in order to make it through the season. Continue reading ‘Eagles Briefs: Injury Updates’
