It may be the offseason, but the Eagles have pulled off a rousing victory over the Dallas Cowboys: they landed RB Demarco Murray. Whether you trust in Chip Kelly, or many of his transactions over the past week have left you scratching your head, this is one move that makes sense. In the wake of the loss of LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills, the Birds needed a star in the backfield, and that is exactly what they have gotten with Murray, who reportedly inked a 5-year deal with $21 million in guaranteed money. Can the Philadelphia Eagles surge to 2-0 against the San Diego Chargers?


After the excitement of Monday night’s win over the Washington Redskins, there are two more opportunities in the next five days to see if the Philadelphia Eagles can do it again, first against San Diego on Sunday, then on Thursday versus Andy Reid and the Chiefs.

Sunday’s game against the Chargers is the home opener at the Linc. The Birds hope to surge to 2-0, while San Diego seeks to avenge their loss to the Texans, which saw them squander a 21-point lead over the Houston Texans.

Chip Kelly said this week that he was not thrilled with the pace of his team’s offense. He wants them to be even faster. Quite a bold statement, as those who watched the first half of Monday’s game could barely keep up with the rapid-fire pace of the plays.
